In October 2024, our beloved stained glass instructor, Tracey, was diagnosed with a terminal illness. True to her spirit, she faced her diagnosis with strength, courage, and grace. Even as she underwent treatment, Tracey continued to teach—sharing her knowledge, humor, and deep love for glass art—until just a few short weeks before her passing.
Tracey’s story is deeply woven into the history of The Glass Bar. She first joined us in 2015 as a student, instantly becoming part of our close-knit Tuesday night group—fondly (and a little humorously) known as Tuesday Night Fight Club. Those evenings were filled with laughter, storytelling, art-making, and the occasional glass of wine.
In 2017, after recognizing Tracey’s immense skill and natural teaching talent, we invited her to join our team as an instructor. What began as one class a week quickly blossomed into four—each one packed with eager students and a waitlist a mile long. Her students simply wouldn’t leave, drawn to her warmth, creativity, and passion. Tracey constantly brought new techniques, endless inspiration, and her famous stories to the studio, creating an atmosphere that was as vibrant and full of life as the art she loved.
Tracey fought like hell, and her determination continues to inspire us daily. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy shines on in every cut of glass, every soldered seam, and every artist she encouraged to create fearlessly.
We continue to create in her honor—and in her light.
