Love working with glass, but don’t have the space to convert your basement into a full-blown studio? Use our space, tools, and equipment. Join us for Studio Time!

Unlock your creativity during Open Studio Time at The Glass Bar in Needham, MA! This is the perfect opportunity for experienced glass artists to work independently on their own projects while surrounded by a community of like-minded creatives. With access to our tools and the option to purchase supplies on-site, you’ll have everything you need to bring your vision to life. While sessions are unguided, the shared space offers endless inspiration as you refine your skills and explore new techniques. Join us and enjoy the freedom to create in a supportive and artistic environment!
Studio Time is for students who can work completely on their own, without instructor guidance.
If you wish to learn a new or advanced technique, we recommend booking a private lesson with an instructor or enrolling in a class. Instructors will be fully dedicated to their classes during Studio Time and will not be available for additional support.
Memberships
Monthly Membership
$125 month, materials and firing not included.
A $75 one-time registration fee is required when you first join.
Memberships auto-renew on the 1st of every month.
Memberships are non-refundable.
Cancellation requires at least two weeks’ notice. If you choose to rejoin later, the $75 registration fee will apply again.
Single Session Visitors may attend for $35 per session and are not subject to the benefits listed below.

Guest Passes: Members may bring a guest to Studio Time for $25 per visit. Guests must work alongside the member who invited them. The member is responsible for providing instruction, supervision, and materials for their guest. Guests are not eligible for member benefits.

Membership Requirements and Code of Conduct
Community Focus: Studio Time is designed for self-directed work in a shared environment. It’s a chance to create independently while enjoying the energy and inspiration of our community.
Prerequisite Experience:
Members must have completed at least six weeks of instructed class time before joining Studio Time.

Skill Expectations

Stained Glass: Members should be able to design their own patterns, use the cricut machine (if desired), cut glass, foil, solder, and frame projects independently. They must also know how to safely use all studio equipment.

Fused Glass: Members should be able to plan and execute their own designs, confidently applying the techniques learned in class.

All Studio Time sessions must be reserved online in advance. Please do not arrive without registering, as space is limited and sessions fill quickly, online availability reflects actual availability. Please ensure to specify which studio you wish to join.
Use Studio Materials:

All materials must be purchased through The Glass Bar, unless special permission is granted by the owner.
Respect the Space:

Clean your workspace before leaving and return all tools and materials to their proper place.
Respect Others:

Be considerate of noise, personal space, and shared equipment.
Safety First:

Follow all posted safety guidelines and wear required protective gear (including close-toed shoes).
Accountability:

If you damage tools, equipment, or supplies, report it immediately so we can address it and keep the studio safe for everyone.
Payment Policy:

All payments for materials, firing fees, and guest passes must be completed at the end of each class or session. Balances may not be carried over to the next visit.
Arrive & Conclude on Time:

Early arrivals are not permitted. Late arrivals do not extend the class time.

Students must allow sufficient time to clean up their workspace and gather their materials, to depart promptly at the scheduled end of the session.
