Boston's Only Glass School That Specializes in

Literally the coolest stuff on the planet. Come, see what inspired me to get into glass in the first place.

The bonding of glass by heat, administered by a kiln. Although its technically cold glass, it's pretty hot in here.

We bring it back with this traditional art form, putting a fresh spin on it with fun, engaging instruction.

What Is Dichroic Glass?

"Dye-CROW-ick!"

The word "dichroic" comes from the greek word, "dichroma" meaning two or more colors. This presents when holding a piece of finished dichroic glass. If you tilt the piece a new flash of color presents itself!

Dichroic Glass is what originally inspired Jordan to begin working with glass in 2009. Since then, she has dedicated countless hours to researching dichroic glass, exploring new techniques, and developing her skill. She is the only instructor in the Boston area that can guide you through making art using this medium.

In her classes, Jordan will teach you all the tricks you need to know to create a beautiful set of dichroic glass jewelry. You’ll leave feeling confident with a piece that will have you bragging.

What Is Glass Fusing?

Believe it or not, the art of Glass Fusing has been around since about 2000 BCE. During the Renaissance period, glass fusing lost its' popularity as Stained Glass swept the charts. It wasn't until the 1960's that glass fusing re-emerged, now glass fusing considered one of the fastest growing art forms.

Glass fusing is the bonding of separate pieces of glass by high heat, administered in a kiln. It’s easy to learn the basics of glass fusing, it’s fun, and the possibilities are endless. There is a vast range of techniques, and we are always experimenting!

At The Glass Bar, you have the opportunity to experiment with glass fusing on a beginners' level. We also offer classes in more advanced techniques for those with a desire to learn.

What Is Stained Glass?

Stained Glass has been a world-renowned art form for centuries. During the medieval period Stained Glass surged in popularity as it was implemented into windows. These Cathedrals around the world continue to rank high as travel destinations for their ever-lasting Stained Glass Windows. It comes as no surprise that the techniques used to create these beautiful windows demanded great skill and artistry.

Here at The Glass Bar, we know that learning the skills of stained glass is well within your reach. Tracey Adams, our Stained Glass instructor, with more than 30 years of experience is eager to share her knowledge. Tracey views herself as a ‘life-long learner’. She is continuously learning new glass techniques to deliver the best experience to her students.
